Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how Veriflied ApS ("Veriflied", "we", "us", or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on our website at veriflied.dk. It should be read in conjunction with our Privacy Policy.
1. What Are Cookies
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device when you visit. Cookies are widely used to make websites work efficiently, to remember your preferences between visits, and to provide information to website operators.
Cookies can be classified by their lifespan and by their domain of origin:
- ·Session cookies are deleted automatically when you close your browser
- ·Persistent cookies remain on your device until they expire or you delete them
- ·First-party cookies are set by the website you are visiting (in our case, veriflied.dk)
- ·Third-party cookies are set by another domain (typically a service provider integrated into the website)
2. Our Approach to Cookies
We take a minimalist approach to cookies. We use only strictly necessary cookies required for the basic operation of our website. We do not use:
- ·Analytics cookies (no Google Analytics, no Mixpanel, no Plausible, etc.)
- ·Advertising cookies (no Meta Pixel, no Google Ads, no LinkedIn Insight Tag, etc.)
- ·Tracking cookies of any kind
- ·Behavioural profiling cookies
- ·Third-party social media cookies
This is a deliberate design choice. We believe in respecting your privacy and have built our website to operate without surveillance technology.
3. Cookies We Use
The following cookies are used on veriflied.dk:
| Cookie Name | Purpose | Type | Duration | Necessity |
|---|---|---|---|---|
vf_consent | Records that you have acknowledged this Cookie Policy | First-party | 12 months | Strictly Necessary |
vf_session | Maintains your session if you log in to the Veriflied platform | First-party | Session | Strictly Necessary |
__cf_bm | Cloudflare bot management (used by Vercel for security) | Third-party (Vercel/Cloudflare) | 30 minutes | Strictly Necessary |
3.1 The vf_consent Cookie
When you visit veriflied.dk for the first time, a cookie banner is displayed informing you of our use of strictly necessary cookies. Once you acknowledge the banner, the vf_consent cookie is set to remember that you have seen the notice. This prevents the banner from re-appearing on every page or visit.
3.2 The vf_session Cookie
If you log in to the Veriflied platform, a session cookie is set to maintain your authenticated session. This cookie is essential for the platform to function. The cookie is deleted when you log out or when your browser session ends.
3.3 The __cf_bm Cookie
This cookie is set by Cloudflare (used by our hosting provider Vercel) for the purpose of distinguishing legitimate human visitors from automated bots. It is necessary for the security and stability of the website.
4. Why We Do Not Use Analytics or Tracking
We considered using web analytics (such as Google Analytics or Plausible) to measure website usage. After careful consideration, we decided against it for the following reasons:
- ·The information we would gain is not material to our commercial operations
- ·The privacy cost to our visitors does not justify the benefit
- ·We would prefer to invest engineering effort in our core products rather than analytics infrastructure
- ·We believe operating a tracking-free website is consistent with the privacy-respecting approach we apply to our products
We may revisit this decision in the future. If we do introduce any analytics or tracking technology, we will:
- ·Update this Cookie Policy to reflect the change
- ·Implement an opt-in consent mechanism in compliance with the Cookiebekendtgørelsen § 3, stk. 1 (Danish implementation of the ePrivacy Directive)
- ·Provide you with the ability to withdraw consent at any time
5. Lawful Basis for Cookie Use
The cookies we use are classified as "strictly necessary" cookies under section 3, paragraph 2 of the Cookiebekendtgørelsen (the Danish executive order implementing the ePrivacy Directive). Strictly necessary cookies are exempt from the requirement of prior consent and may be used to:
- ·Enable basic website functionality (such as session management)
- ·Enable communication over an electronic communications network (security cookies)
- ·Provide a service explicitly requested by you (such as authentication when you log in)
6. How to Control or Delete Cookies
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- ·View the cookies stored on your device
- ·Delete specific cookies or all cookies
- ·Block cookies from specific websites
- ·Block all third-party cookies
- ·Block all cookies (note: this may prevent the website from functioning)
For instructions on managing cookies in popular browsers:
Please note that if you delete or block our cookies, certain features of veriflied.dk may not function correctly. In particular, the Veriflied platform requires session cookies to maintain your login.
7. Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal that informs websites of your preference not to be tracked. Because we do not engage in tracking, the DNT signal does not affect our website behaviour. We respect the privacy intent behind DNT regardless of its technical activation.
8. Changes to This Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our cookie practices, changes in applicable law, or other operational reasons. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this Cookie Policy indicates when it was most recently revised.
If we introduce any new cookies (in particular any non-strictly-necessary cookies), we will update this Cookie Policy and, where required by law, request your consent through a cookie banner.
